I’m Matthew Victoria, a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP) and mortgage professional with more than 15 years of experience helping clients navigate home financing - including the unique financial and housing challenges that can arise during and after divorce. My role in the divorce process goes beyond simply obtaining a mortgage approval. I work collaboratively with divorce attorneys, mediators, financial professionals, real estate agents, and other members of the divorce team to help identify potential mortgage and real estate issues before they become obstacles. Every divorce presents a different set of circumstances. One spouse may want to retain the marital home, another may need to purchase a new home, or the parties may need to understand whether a proposed settlement actually works from a mortgage qualification standpoint. I help evaluate options involving refinancing, equity buyouts, mortgage assumptions, support income, property disposition, credit, and future purchasing power. My approach is education-first. I believe the best outcomes happen when mortgage planning is incorporated into the divorce conversation early - before agreements are finalized and while there is still flexibility to structure solutions. I enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary divorce team and serving as a resource professionals can turn to when a case involves a mortgage, real estate, or housing question - whether the situation is straightforward or requires a little creativity. My goal is simple: help professionals and their clients make informed decisions today that support financial and housing stability after divorce.
