My name is Alexis R. Acevedo, and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Grief Informed Professional and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor specializing in grief, pet loss and life transitions. I am able to provide services virtually to those in NY, NJ and CT. Life doesn't just change when someone dies, it shifts with breakups, divorce, pet companion loss or shifts, career endings, identity transformations, and all the losses we don't always have names for. I work with adults navigating both death-related grief and the complex losses that come with major life changes. I can work with individuals aged 16 and up following a consultation with the client and a family member. I take a relational approach to therapy, where the connection we build becomes part of the healing. I create space for clients to process their experiences, find their footing, and move forward,not by leaving grief behind, but by learning to carry it differently.
